Cannabis holds many of these cannabinoids, with each one providing a wide variety of health benefits. The two most notable cannabinoids are THC and CBD. It’s known that THC is the psychoactive compound, which delivers the ‘high’, while CBD is more known for delivering the additional health benefits.

What Do THC and CBD Stand For?

While many recognize them by their abbreviations, there are a lot of people out there that do not know what THC and CBD stand for. CBD, on the other hand, is also an abbreviation and stands for Cannabidiol. Much like THC, Cannabidiol is another cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. In fact, it’s just one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. While both THC and CBD are cannabinoids, they’re very different. CBD doesn’t contain any of the psychoactive traits THC has become known for, therefore, it will not get you high.
